I'm so sorry for your loss of Gary. His smile was always contagious. I remember him when I was growing up, always being there. And when I moved back to Rockland, there he was at the store with his smile. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I haven't known Gary, but he sold me his 1981 Cadillac Eldorado. He was honest about the whole deal and he gave me a very fair price. It came to a very good home.

My condolences to his entire family...Glenn, from Sparta il.

Dear Judy, Jeb and Jill. Gary had a zest for life that was contagious. Some of my happiest days were spent hunting the strip mine in "Gary's Army" and hangin' out at the store. This world is made up of givers and takers. We lost a true giver! You are in our prayers. Dwell on all the good memories.

Judy, Gerry & Jill,

So very sorry to hear of your loss. I have great memories of growing up in Rockland and all the help and advise Gary gave us "Rockland Boys" about staying out of trouble. He was truly a very kind and generous man. Will miss him waving and the friendly smile as I round the corner going to Mom's house. My condolences to you as I'm unable to make it back to pay my respects in person.

Gary and I were friends...for 58 years. We were the kind of friends that didn't need to stay in touch by mail or phone. We may not see each other for a couple years and pick up right from where we left off. Ours was a friendship not based in things that we had in common or did together or because we owed each other something. We are certainly different from each other by countless ways. We were similar in one way...we were true friends. Friends that knew that if the phone rang we were on the way no matter how far or how difficult...there was never a question. He was like my brother.
I do not see Gary as dead...I see him as waiting just over the next knoll, were we will continue that conversation we had just days ago connected to the one we started 58 years ago.

To the Wenner family,

We send out heartfelt sympathy and love to you all at this sad time. We will certainly miss his wave and smile as we drive by your place. Our girls always looked forward to his Halloween treat every year. It was their favorite stop----the hot dog and can of pop and there was usually lots of our Rockland neighbors there to chat and catch up with. We also will be praying that you all find comfort and peace in the difficult days ahead. Chris and Cal Cross

So sorry for your loss. We (my Mother and I) were fortunate to have been able to talk to Gary at the Doctor's office recently. He made himself known to me and we talked about his trip with my Dad to Canada and the fun that they had. I appreciate his kind remarks and sense of humor. May many good memories get you through those tough moments.

So sad.One of my heros gone.I will truly miss him,and his antics, like telling Phil to "check him",when they saw me with a ringneck hen.I had crap up my neck thinking they were deputies. Then Ween said "I hope you get as many as you can"
they both laughed,as did I.
I know there is lots of game where you are now.Gary,Phil,Dale Silvis, back together again.I will always remember him telling me how sorry he was when I lost my son,he had tears in his eyes,as I do now.
