Although I will miss Aunt Ave, I will remember the good times we had, like visiting her and Uncle Bob, picking up honey bears with fresh honey from their bees, and listening to her and Grandma Melat tell us fun stories from their childhood (like how they used to pull tar strips from the road and chew them like bubble gum). I'm grateful for the time we had here, but glad to know she and Uncle Bob are probably having a party in Heaven. Love and prayers!

I loved my Great Aunt Ave. She was always matter of fact and in true 'old lady' fashion, told it like it was. She had spunk and I loved her. She was my pen pal and we enjoyed writing letters and cards back and forth during my college years. She would always tell me funny stories and mishaps and I would tell her about my life- the funny stuff and the disappointments.
I miss the days of riding the horses through the woods to her house and Uncle Bob telling us not to let the horses eat the grass because he just put weed killer on it. Later in my pre-teen years, I would ride my bike to my best friend's house down from their house- but I would make a pit-stop at her house for some honey bread and butterscotch candies in her kitchen. She gave me my Chuck E Cheese Mouse Stuffed Animal that she and Uncle Bob always had in their camper, -because when I would go to their house as a child, I always played with it.... she gave it to me when I went to college. I still have it. She was kind and generous and always supported me on numerous mission trips both financially and with prayer. She will forever make me smile when I think of her. She will be missed. I wish Texas wasn't so far away. We're thinking of you all.
