Veterans Services
|
We offer military funeral honors to all families who are arranging services for
a deceased veteran. These military honors are accorded by local VFW or Veterans
Organizations, and can take place at the funeral home or at the cemetery. They
usually include the folding and presentation of the American flag, the playing
of ‘Taps’, and a 21-gun salute.

The funeral home also files for any federal or local financial benefit that the
veteran may be entitled to. Your funeral director will assist and guide you
through this process at the arrangement conference. If you are arranging
services for a veteran, it is helpful if you can bring discharge papers
(DD-214) to the funeral home for the arrangement conference. (Copies will be
made and the originals returned). Currently, veterans are entitled to free
copies of certified death certificates. Your funeral director will have more
information on helping you obtain this benefit.
