Marjorie A. Weaver

July 21, 1929 ~ November 14, 2016 (age 87) 87 Years Old


            Marjorie A. Weaver, 87, of Seneca, went home to be with her Lord on Monday morning, November 14, 2016, at her residence. 

            She was born to the late W.F. "Buzz" and Isabel A. (Duffield) Coleman in St. Marys on July 21, 1929.

            She graduated from Greenville High School and later from Welsh Business College in Oil City. 

            Mrs. Weaver was a longtime member of Seneca United Methodist Church where she was a former choir member, served as the Sunday School secretary for many years, and participated with the Gleaner's Sunday School class.  Marjorie had a strong faith in Christ and her church family was very important to her. 

            Mrs. Weaver was a former member of The Order of the Eastern Star.

            Marjorie enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with her family, and attending her granddaughter's various activities.

            Through the years, Mrs. Weaver worked as a bookkeeper for United Natural Gas Co., Hayes Bakery, American Red Cross, and the Salvation Army. 

            She was married in Grace United Methodist Church, Oil City, on January 21, 1950 to Earl A. Weaver, and he preceded her in death on December 29, 1988.

            Surviving are two children: Ruth Ann Curfman and her husband Bruce of Volant, and David A. Weaver of Seneca; and two granddaughters, Verna Joy Curfman, attending Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, and Michelle Ann Curfman, attending Edinboro University. 

            Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. 

            The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Seneca United Methodist Church, 196 East State Road in Seneca, where the memorial service to celebrate Marjorie's life will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. William E. Hastings, church pastor, officiating.   

            Private interment will be in Starr Cemetery near Nineveh, Clarion County. 

            The Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca, Cranberry Township is completing funeral arrangements. 

            Memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 447, Seneca, PA  16346; or to the Salvation Army, 217 Sycamore St., Oil City PA  16301.
