William Copley Obituary

            William Arden Copley, 64, of Oil City, died at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie on Thursday evening, December 12, 2024, following a lengthy illness. 

            He was born in Oil City on July 29, 1960 to Nancy J. Edwards of North Carolina and the late William "Tweet" Copley.

            Bill enjoyed hunting, camping, woodworking, playing computer games, and four-wheeling.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He enjoyed the companionship of his dog and will be sadly missed by "Squeaky."

            He was employed as a machinist at various machine shops in Venango County. 

            He was married in Oil City on August 10, 2003 to the former Janet M. Spaziani, and she survives. 

            Also surviving is his mother, Nancy J. Edwards of North Carolina; eight children: Christina Ali (Syed) of Cooperstown, Brandi Coxson of Oil City, William "Bill" Copley (Linda) of Cooperstown, Angelina Nelson (Lance) of Seneca, Danielle Carvin (Joel) of Pleasantville, Michael Spaziani of Oil City, Kathryn Copley (fiancé Lupe) of Eagle Pass, Texas, and Sarah Waters (Matt) of Oil City.  Bill is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren (with another one on the way!).

            Also surviving are his siblings: Kim Harris (Gene) of Cooperstown, Brenda Stevenson (Ike) of Oil City, Thomas McMunn (Amanda) of Titusville, Tammy Holcomb (Ron) of Florida, Millie Uscianowski (John) of Youngstown, Richard Edwards of North Carolina, Jamie Burrows (Bobby) of North Carolina, and Nancy Arroyo (Guarionex) of Franklin; an uncle, Denny Daugherty of Oil City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

            In addition to his father, William "Tweet" Copley, he was preceded in death by his step-mother Judy Copley; step-father Richard Edwards; two brothers, Steven Copley and Jeffery Johnson; and his Aunt Kathy Daugherty.
