Trudy "Jean" Ritts Obituary

             A Celebration of Life for Trudy "Jean" Ritts will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 beginning with a visitation time at 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at Noon at Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca.  Rev. Larry Aldrich, pastor of New Life Community Chapel in Van will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Heckathorn Cemetery.  

 

                Trudy "Jean" Ritts, 80, of Seneca, passed away at her home early Monday morning, November 18, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. 

            She was born in Cranberry on March 8, 1944 to the late Delbert and Phyllis (Perry) Latshaw. 

            She was a graduate of Cranberry High School. 

            Mrs. Ritts was of the Methodist faith. 

            Jean enjoyed square dancing, line dancing, and going to the casino.  She had a wonderful "green thumb" and enjoyed flowers and gardening. 

            She worked as an Avon representative for over fifty years. 

            She was married in Seneca on August 4, 1962 to Paul E. "Pee Wee" Ritts, and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2019.

            Jean is survived by three children: Shellie Snell and her husband Ted of Canton, Georgia, Sherry Bard and her husband Chris of Oil City, and Scott Ritts and his wife Kris of Burgettstown; seven grandchildren: Shawna Burwell and husband Ryan, Daniel Moyer, Codey Moyer and wife Charlye, Casey Bard and wife Lindsey, Kyle Bard and wife Kayla, Dalton Ritts and fiancé Lisette, and Caley Smith and husband Aaron; and 13 great-grandchildren. 

            Also surviving is her brother, Edward Latshaw and his wife Joyce of Cranberry; and numerous nieces and nephews.          

            In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Latshaw and his wife Patricia; and Russell Latshaw.
