Travis James Strain, 51, of Cranberry, died at his residence on Sunday night, January 4, 2026, unexpectedly of natural causes.
He was born in Oil City on July 13, 1974 to Patricia A. (Stover) and the late Milty V. Strain.
He attended the Cranberry Area School District.
Travis enjoyed restoring old Chevy trucks, four-wheeling, sitting by the bonfire, camping, and the companionship of his dog, Zeus. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was most recently employed by Kronospan in Shippenville.
Travis is survived by his mother, Pat Stover of Cranberry; his son, Nate Strain and his companion Brie of Franklin; his sister, Tammy Hansen of Polk; and his nephews: Matthew Hansen and wife Danielle of Oil City, Tommy Hansen of Oil City, Joey Hansen of Polk, and Jared Strain of Cranberry. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Milty Strain; his grandparents, Jack and Millie Strain and Arthur and Virginia Stover; and his step-dad, Jeff Clark.
There will be no visitation or service held. A Celebration of his Life will be planned for later in the summer.
We know that his life wasn't the easiest at times; although now we know that you're happy and relaxed, and that's all that we ever wanted for you.
Private funeral arrangements are being completed by Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca.
