Thomas James Clark, 74, of Oil City, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, August 10, 2024 at Shippenville Rehabilitation Center.
Thomas was born in Oil City on February 28, 1950. He was the son of the late James W. and Dorothy Porter Clark.
He was a graduate of Oil City High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired in 2002 following many years of service as a care aid at Polk Center.
In his earlier years, Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later in life he enjoyed watching the wildlife in his yard, cookouts with family and friends, the company of his cats, especially “Smokey and Tiger.” Even though Tom would often say he was not a people person, he thoroughly enjoyed helping others, and was well-known for tinkering around the house and finding creative ways to fix things.
He is survived by two children, Chadley T. Clark and his wife, Diane, of Beattyville, KY, and Holly M. Heim and her husband Michael, of Kennerdell; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a brother, Don Clark and his wife, Christine, of Corinth, TX, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and step children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Ann Wyant Clark, whom he married on July 1, 2017, as well as a brother, Wesley Clark.
Military honors followed by a memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday (August 16) at the Victory Heights United Brethren Church, 5978 US 322, Franklin, PA. Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery in Cranberry.
