Theodore "Ted" Ziegler

           Theodore J. "Ted" Ziegler, 93, of Venus, currently residing at Oakwood Heights Village in Oil City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. 

          Ted was born May 6, 1931 in Clarion to the late John V. "Fritz" and Martha (Hannold) Ziegler. 

          Ted served in the U.S. Army as a cook from 1952 through 1954.  He was a farmer for most of his life and he also drove truck for a number of years.

          He was married to Helen P. Goodman and she preceded him in death on March 29, 2023.  Ted and Helen enjoyed many happy years together. 

          Ted was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Gaylord and Gordon Ziegler; his sisters, Geraldine Hartzell and Alberta Kunselman; and a half-brother, Victor Ziegler. 

          Ted is survived by his step-children: Dennis (Diane) McLaughlin, Linda McLaughlin, James "Doug" McLaughlin, and Robin (Perry) Miller.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

          His family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the caregivers at Oakwood Heights for their compassion shown to Ted.
