Terry R. Byers

            Terry R. Byers, 62, of Kennerdell (Rockland Twp.), formerly of North Huntingdon, Westmoreland County, died at his home early on Thursday, April 8, 2021 following a battle with A.L.S.

            He was born in McKeesport on Nov. 14, 1958 to Shirley (Wilson) Byers and the late Edward C. Byers. 

            Mr. Byers served in the U.S. Navy.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, boating, hunting, and fishing.  He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

            He is survived by his mother, Shirley B. Byers; his beloved wife, Maryellen Byers; two children, Michael Berko and wife Candice, and Melissa (Berko) Brown; four grandchildren: Kylie, Hannah, Elizabeth, and Logan; a sister, Brenda Billy; and a brother, Edward C. Byers II. 

            He was preceded in death by his father, Edward C. Byers, I. 

            A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, April 15th from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Moments Hall of the James W. Shirley Funeral Home in Irwin, PA (Westmoreland County). 

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the A.L.S. Association.
