Terrance “Terry” Carl Rodgers of Venus, was born July 14, 1949 and went peacefully to be with God on June 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Terry married the love of his life-- Rita Rodgers, who survives, they shared 54 amazing years together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Carl Rodgers; mother-in-law and father-in-law Grace and Ansel Redfield; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Tony, Frank and Judy Redfield.
Terry, following in his father’s footsteps, served in the U.S. Army. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and served in the transportation department.
Terry worked for the PA Game Commission for many years and also worked for Verizon for over 39 years. He spent a copious amount of time with his best friend and son, Shawn Rodgers.
He enjoyed traveling to Canada for family vacations. Terry was an avid fisherman, hunter, and wildlife enthusiast.
Terry and Rita had 15 foster children. Terry was always helping others, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He meant so much to so many, as a son, husband, brother, father, best friend, uncle and papa-- this world was better just because he was in it.
In addition to his wife, Rita, Terry is survived by his brother, Rick (Jane) Rodgers; his sister, Sherry (Chip) Stoltenburg; his brothers-in-law, Dennis (Diane) Redfield, Mark Redfield; and his sister-in-law, Pamela Redfield.
Also surviving are his three children, Shawn (Shannon) Rodgers, Cammie (Rob) Straw, and Gary (Karen) Gross. Terry has many grandchildren and great grandchildren: Alayna (Jordan Reuff) Rodgers, Madison (Dustin) Weidner Haylee, Quinn and Maddison Weidner Walker and Wayland Willey, Gage Whitling, Cadince (Luke) Chaffee, Jenny Delaney (Camden Schiffer), Keira Delaney, Gabby Straw (Kaleb Dilley), Niko Dilley, Justin, Dylan, and Autumn Gross; and many nieces and nephews.
