Stuart James Oxenham, of Oil City, passed away on Saturday morning, April 12, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family.
The son of the late James and Elsie J. (Perkins) Oxenham, he was born November 21, 1935 in Oil City.
He was employed by Hayes Bakery, J&L Steel, then retiring from the Post Office in 2001.
Stuart enjoyed golfing at Cross Creek as a member for over 60 years, and was an avid keyboard player and a lover of music.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 through 1958, having traveled all over the world. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.
Surviving are his children, Mark (Colleen) Oxenham of Montpelier, Ohio; Jim (Gayle) Oxenham of Oil City, Michele (Tim) Wice of Seneca; and his son-in-law Bill Gallagher of Rockaway, New Jersey; his grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Stokes, Jordan McKown, Alex Matzinger, and Brianna Oxenham, all of Ohio; Renee (Jameson) Young of Franklin, Ryan (Aimee) Oxenham of Mercer, Shane Wice of Pittsburgh, and Carly Wice of Seneca; Ben Gallagher of Utah, James Gallagher of Rockaway, New Jersey, and Sarah Gallagher of Rockaway, New Jersey; and several great-grandchildren.
Stuart was preceded in death by his loving wife of over fifty years, Helen Weaver Oxenham; a daughter, Mary Gallagher; a sister, Shirley Oxenham; and a brother, Dick Oxenham.
Per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service held. Private funeral arrangements are being completed by Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca.
