Shirley Marie Snyder McDaniel, age 89, of Cranberry, PA died at home at 5:45 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019
Born July 28, 1930 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, she was the daughter of William Henry Snyder and Clara May (Shreck) Snyder.
She graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1948 and Nyack Bible College in 1952.
Shirley enjoyed being a foster parent.
She was currently attending Christ Covenant Church in Seneca.
Shirley enjoyed sewing, crocheting, canning, and quilting. She also babysat, and gave room and board to anyone in need.
Mrs. McDaniel was a dedicated Pastor’s wife and homemaker. She did home missionary work in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, where she met her husband. She taught her children and grandchildren to love God and others.
Shirley Marie Snyder was married in Phillipsburg, New Jersey on September 20, 1958 to George Donald McDaniel, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by three Children : Keith McDaniel, Kevin McDaniel and wife Pam McDaniel, and Katrina McDaniel O’Neil and husband Doug O’Neil. 15 Grandchildren: Eben McDaniel, Anica McDaniel, Hana McDaniel Midler, Petr McDaniel, Gemma McDaniel Peterman, Morea McDaniel, Rockney McDaniel, Daniel McDaniel, Emma McDaniel Droddy, Kara O’Neil, Laura O’Neil, Lydia O’Neil, Emily O’Neil, Calvin O’Neil, Andrew O’Neil; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Snyder and Clara May Schreck Snyder; a brother, Clifford Snyder; and sisters, Dora Snyder, Betty Snyder Todd, and Marian Snyder Fisher; and an infant daughter, Karen ; and her grandson Aric McDaniel.
Friends and family will be received on Monday (Aug. 26th) from Noon until 2 p.m. at the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home Monday at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jeremy Coyer, officiating. Private interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
