Sharon Lee Thompson, 67, of Walnut Bend (President Township), passed away suddenly on Friday, July 26, 2024 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a sudden illness.
She was born in Dallas, Texas to the late Paul and Jessie Rios. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Sharon was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and kept yearly seasonal NFL scores for years. She truly enjoyed walking her dog, Buck Buck, and visiting with her friends and neighbors in the Walnut Bend river community. She loved living by the river, enjoyed crossword puzzles and True Crime television shows, and spending time with her friends. Sharon's personality could make you laugh even on your worst day. She and her 'crazy socks' will be missed my many!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Jessie Rios.
Sharon is survived by her husband Ed of twenty-five years. Also surviving is her daughter, Autumn Bonanni of Mercer; a son, Matthew Thompson of Kentucky; and a daughter, Shannon Stoyer (husband Jared) of New Kensington; and six grandchildren: Austin Carothers (Maddie), Courtney Carothers, Anthony Bonanni, Trinity Thompson, Justice Thomas, and Aleetie Thompson.
She is also survived by five brothers: Ed Rios (Sharon), and Ralph, Roy, Richard, and George Rios; and a sister, Carmen Rios.
There will be no visitation or service held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the river at Walnut Bend.
