Sharon A. Franklin

Sharon A. Franklin, 71, of Cranberry, passed away Sunday morning, February 8, 2026 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, following a sudden illness. 

She was born in Oil City on November 9, 1954; a daughter of the late Willard and Jean (Kahle) Sheatz. 

She was a 1972 graduate of Cranberry High School, where she enjoyed singing, and was a member of the pop choir. 

Sharon was of the Christian faith, and in her earlier years, played the piano at the Cranberry United Methodist Church. 

Her favorite thing was spending time with her family, her kids, and her grandkids; and she enjoyed the companionship of her cat, "Opie."

Her pride and joy were her three children: Jason Franklin (Virginia) of Monaca, Shawn Franklin (Amy) of Emlenton, and Tori Snow (Scott) of Seneca.  Her heart was her grandchildren: Anna Millard (Chris) of Cambridge Springs, Lanie Franklin and Brady Franklin both of Emlenton, and Kari Franklin (Collin) of Beaver.  She adored her great-grandchildren: Aleeah and Adelynn Millard, and Sam Young. 

Sharon is also survived by two brothers, Stan Sheatz (Nancy), and Chuck Sheatz (Shari), all of Cranberry. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Jean Sheatz. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday (Feb. 12) from 4 - 6 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow Thursday at 6 p.m., led by her cousin, David Sheatz. 

Private interment will be made in Starr Cemetery in Nineveh at a later date. 

Sharon's family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Hamot Hospital in Erie for their wonderful care and compassion.
