Rudolfe C. "Rudy" Herr

Rudolfe C. “Rudy” Herr, 87, of Cherrytree, passed away peacefully at home while in the company of his loving family Wednesday morning, August 7, 2024.

Rudolfe was born in North Charleroi, Washington County, on May 14, 1937.  He was the son of the late Frederick C. and Elsie Schultz Herr.

He was a 1955 graduate of Cranberry High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Rudolfe was employed by National Fuel Gas and retired as an equipment operator following more than 30 years of service.  He enjoyed fishing at Lake Wilhelm, hunting, and raising beagles.  Rudolfe was a member of the Oil Creek Beagle Club in Titusville and the Rainbow Beagle Club in Cooperstown.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline R. Peterson Herr, whom he married in Franklin on October 21, 1966.  Also surviving are three daughters, Julia A. Skrypzak and her husband, Jay, of Erie, Susan D. Herr (Brian McCrillis) of Pleasantville, and Connie J. Herr of Titusville; a granddaughter, Grace R. Herr; a great granddaughter, Ava J. Kaster, both of Cherrytree; a sister, Anna Ausel of Cranberry; a nephew and niece, Craig Ausel of Quarryville and Lynne Hatch of Rockland, and two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

In addition to his parents, Rudolfe was preceded in death by an infant brother.
