Ronald G. Wenner, 75, of Clarion, formerly of Seneca, died early Saturday morning, February 15, 2025 at Clarion Healthcare.
He was born in Oil City on June 28, 1949 to the late D.O. and Lorraine T. (Smith) Wenner.
He was a 1967 graduate of Cranberry High School. He attended Triangle Tech in Pittsburgh, studying engineering.
Mr. Wenner served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 through 1972. He was stationed in Texas and New Hampshire, working air traffic control. He attained the rank of Sergeant.
Ron was a member of the N.R.A., Fort Venango Ham Radio, Mike & Key Club, and the National Turkey Federation.
Ron enjoyed woodworking, model airplanes, cycling, hiking, whitewater rafting, fishing and deer hunting in his earlier years. He was the co-founder of Seneca Woodworking, which his son, Ryan, now operates. Ron was employed as a draftsman and engineer for Joy Manufacturing, and later at Miller Fall Protection.
He is survived by his wife, the former Sandra Dittman; two sons, Ryan Wenner and his partner Jessica Carbaugh of Clarion, and K. Wenner of Clarion; a granddaughter, Zia Wenner; a brother, Terry Wenner and wife Jan of Oil City; and a sister, Sherry Kulling and husband Gary of Seneca.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Thursday (Feb. 20) from 1 - 3 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow Thursday at 3 p.m. officiated by Pastor Andy Blystone of Seneca Son Rise Church. Full military funeral honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. Private interment will follow in the Rockland Cemetery.
