Robin Slater Obituary

Robin Lee Slater, 68, of Venus, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

Born on October 3, 1957 in Oil City, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Gary and Martha Jane (Daily) Myers.

After graduating from Oil City High School, Robin lived a whirlwind life. She owned a local restaurant, The Checkerboard, with her then-husband, Dean Stover, before moving onto a career at Macropack. After she retired, she managed the Seneca Skating Rink for a number of years.

Robin was a true caretaker. She was the kindest, most selfless, generous wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she always made sure her family was taken care of. She loved to spend time outside on her front porch, listening to the frogs in the pond and the birds in the trees; and spending time with family, friends, and their pups: Scout, Duke, and Molly.

She was happiest surrounded by her family—and she loved everyone like they were family.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Terry Lee Slater; her children, Missy (Tommy) Riley, Andy (April) Slater, and Sean (Callie) Slater; a granddaughter, Katelin (Travis) Riley; two great-grandsons, Jaxon and Jett; and her siblings, Mary K (Tim Dale) Serafin, Harold "Ham" Myers, and Georgia (Melvin) Ellis; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Jane (Daily) Myers and her stepfather, Raymond Lauer; her father, Gary Myers; and two brothers, William "Bill" Myers and Gary "Bud" Myers.

In accordance with Robin's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life may be planned at a later date. Private funeral arrangements are being completed by Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kirtland Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 108, Franklin PA  16323.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shannon K. Penland, the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center team, and the nurses from AseraCare Hospice for all of their support and care over the last year.
