Robert C. Hysong, 72, of Oil City, formerly of Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, died at UPMC Northwest in Seneca on Saturday, January 29, 2022.
He was born in Greensburg Hospital on October 23, 1949 to the late Charles P. and Henrietta (McIntyre) Hysong.
He graduated from Hempfield High School, where he played football.
Mr. Hysong was a United States Vietnam Veteran.
He was an avid Steelers fan, enjoyed sitting by a campfire, and farming and being outdoors.
He is survived by four children: Mike Grove, Desiree Kush and her husband Joshua, Shannon Hysong, and Richard Hysong; nine grandchildren; and four step-brothers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Hysong; and his step-father, Ernest Fleck.
A Celebration of his life is being planned for the summer.
Memorials may be made to any veteran based charity.
