Richard George "Dick" Updegraff, 63, of Oil City, died on Tuesday afternoon, June 5, 2018 following an illness.
He was born in Grove City on October 24, 1954 to the late Paul A. and Connie V. (McCluskey) Updegraff.
Rick graduated in 1973 from Laurel High School in New Castle; and studied welding at the Vo-Tech.
He was a member of A.B.A.T.E., the Moose Lodge, and the P.N.A. Club.
Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping; and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Mr. Updegraff was employed as a welder in the fabrication shop at Conair in Franklin for many years.
Surviving are three children: Joseph P. Updegraff and his fiancé Rebecca Keeley of Stoneboro, Nicole D. Cornelius and her husband Don of Harlansburg, and Brian L. Updegraff of Oil City; five grandchildren: Jordan Updegraff, Parker and Ronalynn Cornelius, and Arya and Codie Updegraff.
Also surviving are his siblings: Jacqueline Bosley and her husband Robert of Hendersonville, Paul "Pete" Updegraff and his wife Teresa of Mercer, Matthew Updegraff and his wife Sheila of Oil City, Machelle Updegraff and her significant other James Greenawalt of Grove City; a step-brother, Ernest Proper of Arizona; a step-sister, Jennifer Lemich and her husband Greg of Norfolk, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Updegraff.
There will be no visitation or services held.
