Rachel A. McKinney, 66, of Grove City, passed away peacefully following an illness on Sunday night, January 4, 2026 at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.
She was born in Oil City on September 28, 1959 to the late LeRoy and Cecilia (Curran) George.
She was a 1978 graduate of Oil City High School.
She was a classroom helper and volunteer at her children's schools when they were younger.
She was a member of the Fertigs Family Church of Faith and formerly attended the Rouseville United Methodist Church.
Rachel enjoyed crocheting afghans, taking spontaneous road trips, and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed kayaking.
She was married in Rouseville on January 17, 1981 to David L. McKinney, and he survives. Also surviving are their three sons, Bradley McKinney and his wife Becky of Butler, Andrew McKinney of Grove City, and Keith McKinney of Grove City; her brother, LeRoy George Jr. and his wife Edie of Seneca; and her sister-in-law, Caroline George of Oil City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Cecilia George; and her brother, Alfred George.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday (January 17th) at 11 a.m. in the Fertigs Family Church of Faith, 1648 Fertigs Rd., Venus, PA 16364. Pastor Bud Welton and Pastor Dan Grimes will officiate.
Private interment will be made in the Rynd Farm Cemetery at a later date.
