Penny Lynne Sidora

Penny Lynne (Hipkiss) Sidora, 71, of Seneca, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

She was born July 19, 1953, a daughter of the late William and Mable Hipkiss.

Penny is survived by her husband, James K. Sidora, whom she married on September 19, 1981.

She was a graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.  Penny was a retired pharmacist at Rite Aid where she enjoyed helping customers and co-workers.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to casinos, her trips to Las Vegas, and their dogs, Joy, Hope, and Sidney. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brothers, William (Lawanda) Hipkiss, Wylie (Kathy) Hipkiss, Lee (Susie) Hipkiss, and Dwight (Lizethe) Hipkiss; her in-laws, Saundra Odrey, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Pompe, Joseph Sidora (Judith Small), Thomas (Judith) Sidora; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mable Hipkiss; her sister, Kathleen Grimm and her husband Kenneth; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Gertrude Sidora; brother-in-law, Nicholas Odrey; and sister-in-law, Christine Sidora. 

Her family thanks the staff at Youlanda B. Barco Oncology Institute of Meadville, along with the staff at Hospice of Crawford County of Meadville, for their care and support of Penny and her extended family. 

Visitation for friends and family will be held Wednesday (Dec. 11) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow Wednesday at 2 p.m.  Her friend, Esther Sweeney will officiate the service.  Interment will follow in Heckathorn Cemetery in Seneca.
