Patricia Ann “Patty” Ochs, 75, of Kossuth, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Penn Highlands Hospital in DuBois, following an extended illness.
She was born in Oil City on August 10, 1950 to the late Harold L. and Erla Mae (McGinnis) Horner.
She was a graduate of Keystone High School in Knox.
Patty was a member of the Red Hats Society, and the Clarion Chapter #267 of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as a former Worthy Matron.
She was a member of St. Michael Parish in Fryburg.
Patty’s pride and joy was her family and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and crocheting.
She worked as a cashier and a meat wrapper for over 30 years at Hirsch’s Meat Market in Kossuth.
Patty was married in St. Michael Church in Fryburg on December 14, 1972 to Gary L. Ochs, and he survives.
She is also survived by her daughter, Michelle Knight and her husband Donnie of Franklin; her grandson, Jordenn Knight; her son, Jonathan Cochran and his wife Krystal Ganoe of Kossuth; and her granddaughters, Anastacia and Maisy Cochran. Also surviving are a special niece, Emily Best of Williamsport and her three boys; a brother-in-law, Mike Best and wife Shelly of Franklin and their children Myka Seyler and Kobe Kahle; a brother-in-law, Rodney Ochs of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Robin Best and JoAnn Fyock; and a nephew, Charles Lenhart.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday (Dec. 1) at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Franklin, with Father James Campbell as celebrant. Close family and friends are invited to attend.
Patty’s family would like to thank the Clarion-Forest V.N.A. for all of their help and support, especially to Jeff and Rachel.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hile-Best Funeral Home, P.O. Box 245, Seneca, PA 16346, to assist the family with funeral expenses.
