Patricia "Pat" McDevitt, 92, of Southwest Blvd., Oil City, died early Monday morning, August 26, 2019, at her home.
The daughter of the late Ralph and Laura (Ruddock) Johns, born August 12, 1927 in Brookville.
She graduated from Brookville High School in 1944. She then worked at Sylvania, before attending the Clearfield Cadet Nursing Corps, graduating in 1948.
In 1950, she married Lee H. McDevitt, and he preceded her in death in 1990.
Pat enjoyed going to camp, boating, reading, and traveling with the YWCA Gallivanters for many years. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Oil City.
She is survived by her son, Richard L. McDevitt of Oil City; a daughter, Debra L. Swetnam; two granddaughters, Amanda Clark and Deana Murphy; and a grandson, Sam Murphy, all of Blacksburgh, Virginia. Also surviving is a sister, Nancy Jane Lamont of Barefoot Bay, Florida.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kay Johns.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, August 29th, at 10 a.m. in Peters Chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2 Center Street in Oil City, with Rev. Julie Kolacz, church pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 2 Center St., Oil City, PA 16301.
