Patricia J. Fry, 76, of Seneca, passed away at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh early Sunday morning, July 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family, following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Pittsburgh on March 16, 1942 to the late Albert and Jane (Eckley) Thomka.
She was active with her former church, the Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church in Murrysville; and was a current member of Seneca United Methodist Church.
Patricia served as the state representative of volunteers with the "Reach to Recovery" program of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, where she had the opportunity to counsel and speak with breast cancer patients on a variety of issues.
Patricia enjoyed sewing, traveling, camping, and family game nights.
While raising and caring for her family, she was a dedicated homemaker before owning and operating a machining and fabricating shop in Glassport for many years.
She was married in Munhall on April 28, 1962 to Leonard J. Fry, and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dan Fry and his partner Valerie Felicetti of Morgantown, West Virginia; and Ken Fry and his wife Connie of Seneca; four grandchildren, Brandon, Baylee, and Riley Fry, and Nicholas Brandi; two brothers, Albert Thomka of Tampa, Florida, and Chuck Thomka and his wife Mary Lou of Bullhead City, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Thomka.
A service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held Sunday (July 8) at 3 p.m. in the Seneca United Methodist Church, 196 East State Road in Seneca. Rev. William E. Hastings and Rev. Mick Chittester will co-officiate.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca, Cranberry Township.
