Patricia Bickel Obituary

Patricia F. Bickel, 86, of Bredinsburg Road, Franklin, died at UPMC Northwest on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 surrounded by her loving children.

Born on March 15, 1938 in Shippenville, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Florence (Licht) Eiseman.

She was a graduate of Shippenville High School, class of 1957, and enjoyed meeting with classmates for luncheons and picnics over the years.

Patricia was a member of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Oil City where she was active in the Rosary Society and assisted with funeral dinners.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, making memory bears, gardening, and doing yardwork.

As her health declined the past couple of years, her favorite activity was going for car rides with her daughter.  And hurry, hurry, hurry was her favorite saying, a reflection of the busy life she lived doing for others every chance she could.

Mrs. Bickel was employed as a chemical operator at Merisol in Rouseville for many years, retiring in 2003.

She was married at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fryburg on August 31, 1962 to Gordon E. Bickel, who preceded her in death on February 4, 2014.

Pat is survived by her children: Gordon Bickel, II of Franklin, Marji Eismont and her husband Archie of Titusville, and Kurt Bickel and his wife Kim of Chardon, Ohio; granddaughter, Amy Greenfield, and her husband Matt Hilton and great-granddaughter, Olivia.

Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Gerald Bickel and his wife Sandy of Reno; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Joseph Bickel; and her siblings, Albert Eiseman, Mary Jo-ann Shaul, Wanda Boal, Monica Summerville, Paul Eiseman, and Reginald Eiseman.

Visitation will be held Saturday (Jan. 11) from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca. The funeral service will follow Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Father Richard Allen, officiating.  Private interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Venango VNA Foundation (Hospice), 491 Allegheny Blvd., Franklin PA  16323.
