Minta R. "Minnie" Weaver, 86, of Seneca, went Home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, February 20, 2025 at Oil City Healthcare, following an extended illness.
She was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on October 25, 1938 to the late Hamilton and Leota (Weaver) Blose.
She was a 1956 graduate of Marion Center High School in Indiana County.
Minnie was a founding member of the Cranberry Area Little League, and served as the treasurer for many years. She was a longtime active member of the former Seneca United Methodist Church where she served on various committees.
Minnie was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and baking, and was particular about keeping her home clean and tidy. She also enjoyed watching game shows, playing board games, and spending time with her family and grandchildren, and attending their ball games.
She worked as a teacher's aide at Cranberry school district, at the Dale Stewart Erie Insurance Agency, and at Weaver Lumber in Seneca.
She was married in Dayton, Pennsylvania on April 20, 1956 to Arthur W. Weaver, and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2017.
Minnie is survived by her son, William A. Weaver and his wife Debra of Seneca; her daughter, Debra Bond and her husband Brad of Selah, Washington; five grandchildren: Jim Weaver of Oil City, Dan Weaver and wife Pam of Seneca, Sam Weaver of Seneca, Matt Weaver of Pittsburgh, and Ashley LaTour and husband Tanner of Cheney, Washington; and three great-grandchildren: Lillian Weaver, and Cooper and Arthur LaTour.
Also surviving is her sister, Bernice Badhorn of Toledo, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Betty Kapp of Knox; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Weaver; her siblings: Robert Blose, Max Blose, infant brother Carl Blose, Laura Bell Wise, Edith Patterson, Florence Haase, Jessie McMasters, and Louise Fogarty; and brothers-in-law: Ralph Kapp, Emil Weaver and wife Shirley, Gerald Weaver and wife Patricia, and Ronald Weaver and wife Shirley.
Visitation will be held Sunday (Feb. 23) from 2 - 6 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca. Additional visitation will be held Monday (Feb. 24) from 10 - 10:45 a.m. at Seneca Son Rise Church, 196 East State Rd. in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andy Blystone, officiating. Private interment will follow in Starr Cemetery in Nineveh.
