Mary Brumbaugh Obituary

                Mary E. Brumbaugh, 98, of Seneca, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, March 8, 2025 at the Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

                She was born on August 4, 1926 in Venango County to the late George E. and Hannah R. (Clark) Wise. 

                She enjoyed working and being around people.  Mary worked at the Italian Village, Valley Lunch, drove school bus for the Cranberry School district for 20 years, and worked at Martino’s until the age of 80. 

                Mary enjoyed cooking, camping, doing crafts, and watching television, especially the cooking and food shows. 

                She frequently donated blood to the American Red Cross until her health prohibited, obtaining a total of six gallon pins over her lifetime. 

                She married Wade “Grump” L. Brumbaugh on April 15, 1966.  He preceded her in death on September 29, 1985.

                Mary is survived by a sister, Alice J. Knight of Mount Orab, Ohio; two daughters, Frances L. Vandermark and her husband Gerald of Seneca, and Nancy L. Reese and her husband Carl of New Bethlehem; six grandchildren: Donna L. (Roger) Wells of Pittsboro, North Carolina, Michael P. (Kim) Hankey of Crownsville, Maryland, Melissa  B. (Greg) Dolecki of Seneca, Carl J. (Anick) Reese of Pine Mountain Club, California, Julie A. (Willie) Bauer of Seneca, and Shawn C. (Sarah) Reese of Franklinton, North Carolina.  Mary has eleven great-grandchildren: Nolan A. Wells of Pittsboro, NC, Alexndra K. Reese of Palmdale, California, Josephine R. Hankey and partner Adam Weiner of New York, NY, Trevor J. Dolecki and partner Darienne Yates of Slippery Rock, Benjamin G. (Firdevs) Hankey of Crownsville, Maryland, Dakota J. Reese of Palmdale, California, Chelsie J.  Bauer and partner Jamie Glass of Oil City, Shenley J. Reese of Franklinton, North Carolina, Alyssa N. Reese of Knightdale, North Carolina, Chandler J. Bauer and partner Averi Fonzo of Seneca, Chayden J. Bauer of Seneca, Tristan M. Reese of Franklinton, North Carolina, and Cadan J. Reese of Franklinton, North Carolina; and five great-great-grandchildren: Payton A. Wells, Jerika A. Torres, Julian M. Glass, Stevie J. Bauer, and Truett J. Dolecki. 

                In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her three brothers, Albert A. Wise, George G. Wise, and Richard E. Wise; and two sisters, Joan R. Dickey and Grace E. Carson. 

                There will be a Celebration of Life to be determined at a later date.  Private funeral arrangements are being completed by Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca.  Her final resting place will be in Heckathorn Cemetery in Seneca.
