Martha "Marty" Anderson Obituary

Martha A. (Mansfield) Anderson, 88, of Oil City, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at UPMC Northwest.

She was born in Oil City on November 30, 1936 to the late Marshall and Helen (End) Mansfield.

She was a 1954 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Oil City.

Marty worked for several years for Dr. Earle Magee's Optometrist Office.  She also did housekeeping for several local families.

She married Paul Anderson on February 22, 1958. He preceded her in death.

Marty loved to go to garage sales and thrift stores to find treasures!  She was known as Aunt Marty or Grandma Marty to the neighborhood.  For anyone who stopped by, she always had snacks ready, usually chips and dip, and a cold Pepsi.

She is survived by her children: Tina Dinger and her husband Calvin, Rose Anderson, Maggie Anderson, Andy "Gump" Anderson and his wife Joy, and Pete Anderson and his wife Missy; her grandchildren: Trisha Lindey (Eric McFadden), Justin (Ally) Anderson, Tia Dinger, Owen Anderson, Myia Anderson, Jeff (Allison) Smith, and Jenny (Adam) Baumcratz; and her great-grandchildren: Easton Anderson, Noah Lindey, Wyatt Wilson, Cierra Wilson, Piper Cline, Aidan Kightlinger, Tanner Kightlinger, Gage Smith, and Sydney Smith.

Also surviving are her siblings: Tom Mansfield, Pat Karns, Marshall Mansfield, Leo (Betty) Mansfield, Rita Welch, and Dan (Day) Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jo Anderson; and her siblings: Jack Mansfield, Mary Elizabeth "Sis" Wagner, Theresa Mansfield, Kathleen Ward, Jerome Mansfield, and Joseph Mansfield.

Marty's family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff at Oil City Healthcare's Personal Care for being so wonderful to her over the past several years, and to the residents, who were like family to her.  They would also like to thank the staff at UPMC Northwest's ICU for their care and compassion.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or service held.  Private interment will be made in Heckathorn Cemetery in Seneca at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to the St. Elizabeth Center, 311 Emerald St., Oil City, PA  16301; or to a charity of one's choice.
