Marilyn J. Lander

Marilyn Joyce Lander, age 74, of Seneca, died at her residence on Saturday, May 16, 2026.  She was born September 17, 1951 in Oil City, PA.  She was a daughter of the late Wade ‘Bud’ Kline and Maxine (Kline) Jack, both of Venus, PA.

She was a 1969 graduate of Cranberry High School.

Marilyn grew up attending the Venus United Evangelical Church.

She was a lifelong cat lover, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan, Cranberry High School sports enthusiast, and an Oil City Softball super fan.

Marilyn worked at Mellon Bank in Seneca and Cranberry for 15 years, and at the Blair Call Center in Franklin for 12 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Tricia (Lander) Antonis and husband Michael Antonis of Ashburn, Virginia; granddaughter Sara Irwin and husband Ryan Irwin of Seneca;

granddaughter Rebecca Lander and daughter-in-law Carol Lander, both of Fryburg;

her sister Darlene O’Toole and husband Dennis of Tionesta;

her nieces, Hillary Busch and husband Patrick of Marble, and Alexis O’Toole of Cleveland, Ohio; her nephews, Shane Beichner of Washington, DC and Nicholas O’Toole of Erie; and

aunts, Connie Blauser and husband Clayton of Oil City, Joann Slye of Dayton, Ohio, and Donna Morrison of Venus; and many other cousins and relatives in the area. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Wade ‘Bud’ Kline and wife Lulu Belle (Brooks) Kline; her mother, Maxine Jack and husband Dennis Jack; her sister, Carol Kline; her son, Marvin Lander Jr.; her longtime companion, Robert 'Bob' Koestner; her aunt Doris (Morrison) Perry and husband Edmond; aunt Helen (Morrison) Ross and husband Robert; uncle Richard Morrison; aunt Velma "Tootie" (Kline) McClauley; uncle Harold "Mort" Kline and wife Delores; and aunt Lois (Kline) Zerbe and husband Donald.

A memorial service to celebrate Marilyn's life will be held at Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca on Friday, May 29 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior from 10-11 a.m. Rev. Rick Kightlinger, pastor of Venus United Evangelical Church will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Venus Cemetery.
