This is in tribute to Linda Ross who went to be with the Lord on March 26, 2026 at the age of 84. She passed away at UPMC Northwest Hospital, in Seneca, PA, due to complications of her lifelong struggle with Cerebral Palsy.
Linda was born on October 10, 1941, in New Homestead, PA, to the late George H. Ross, Sr. and Marie Butler Ross. Also preceding her in death were her brother, George Ross (Delilah), and sisters Sara Johnson (Bruce), Marie P. Jones (Lonzy), Gladys Brevard (Leon), Gloria Reaves (Joseph) and Mary Baker (Evan).
Linda is survived by her two sisters, Majessa Jatkowski (Leonard), of Duquesne, PA and Louise Ross Nunn (Bill) of Jeannette, PA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as her adopted family at Polk State and The Verland Foundation’s Steffee House.
Linda spent her entire life, from the age of seven, at Polk State, Polk, PA and most recently (since the closure of Polk State), the last few months at The Verland Foundation’s Steffee House in Seneca, PA. She had excellent care at Polk State and Verland’s Steffee House, from the talented and caring staff over the seventy-seven years of her residence.
