Kevin Eric Schilk entered this world very early in the morning of June 18, 1958, a son of Ronald and Barbara Schilk and was escorted by angels to meet Jesus very early, the day of December 13, 2025.
His life description in that space of time is as a "Rebellious Adventurer" but also inspired by love for his family. He grew up in the Oakwood area surrounded by a large group of friends of very similar nature, and his older brother, Rusty, and the influence of those friends. Upon graduation from Cranberry High School, he went to work in various truck driving jobs of his father's business. Along the way, he enjoyed playing bass and acoustic guitar as the popular music of the day promoted. He used his sharp, dry wit to make his comments on society and he had an amazing intellectual grasp of current events. At the age of 30, his adventurous spirit chose service in the United States Navy. After his tour of duty, he remained in Virginia Beach working in concrete construction. On his return home, he went to work with his dad at Ron's Garage, specializing in automobile diagnostic technology. Then he entered the great adventure of marriage to a lovely lady, Olga Rumyantseva from St. Petersburg, Russia. After their internet meeting and discovering that the St. Pete was not in Florida, he traveled to Russia, met her family and friends, enjoyed sky diving and other adventures with a new set of friends, and made plans to return for their marriage on June 13, 2000. After that event was accomplished, he performed a mass of paperwork and she became a delightful addition to the family, arriving on Christmas Eve. After his father's death, Kevin inherited the garage business and continued as a valued businessman of the community.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Olga, his mother, Barbara Schilk, his son, Nathaniel Ian Schilk, his daughter, Nicole Marie Fischer (Dwayne), his brother, Ronald (Rusty) Schilk (Sally). and, stepdaughter, Zhenya (Sasha), 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; and step-son, Michael Krupitser.
His younger family members remember their Grandpa Kevin as a very loving and funny accomplice to their antics as well as introducing them to the excitement of dirt-biking and actually supplying the bikes so they could ride on the track he built. A special cousin claimed Kevin as a brother she had been denied. Just recently Kevin had the great joy of meeting his latest great-grandson. Memories of this loved one included his collection of guitars and the adventures they had in the garage where Grampa opened up the fascinating world of auto mechanics.
Kevin had a passion for needy animals. He and Olga adopted several of these animals and Cato and Pusha were a great comfort to him.
A memorial celebration of his life will be announced at the later date. Private funeral arrangements are being completed by Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca. To express online condolences to Kevin's family, visit www.hilebest.com
