Kenneth E. McQuiston, age 79, of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Hamot Hospital in Erie.
He was born in Franklin on July 22, 1946, a son of the late Kenneth P. and Emma (Whaley) McQuiston.
He was married on April 6, 1968 to the former Linda Baughman, who survives.
He was a 1964 graduate of Rocky Grove High School. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1964 through 1967, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
Mr. McQuiston was employed as an A-Operator for Pennzoil for 32 years. He retired from Citgo in Louisiana in 2010.
Ken was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins Hockey, and Pirates baseball teams. He also enjoyed watching college football games.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; a daughter, Holly L. Showers and her husband Bob of Shippenville; a son, Christopher D. McQuiston of State College; a sister, Karen S. Woods of Florida; and a brother, Keith A. McQuiston and wife Patty of Florida.
Ken is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Elaine E. Shaw and Pam Baughman; and his nephews, Michael (Cheri) Shaw, Robert Shaw, Eric Baughman, Oren (Sarah) Baughman, Eric (Shannon) Elliston, and Keith McQuiston, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Emma McQuiston; four brothers-in-law, Robert Woods, Warren Shaw, Darrell Baughman, and David W. Baughman; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oren C. and Hazel Baughman.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service held.
Private funeral arrangements are being completed by Hile-Best Funeral Home.
