Ken Linch

                Ken Linch, 75, of Oil City, passed away Tuesday morning, May 21, 2024 at his home, following several months of battling health issues. 

                He was married to his high school sweetheart, Judy McFetridge, at St. Stephen Church.

                Following graduation, he went to Kentucky for training and received a job with Northwest and Pan Am Airlines. 

                Ken was a former Boy Scout leader, teaching ropes, swimming, rowing, and camping skills to the young men.  He loved hunting, fishing, and traveling.  They went to 38 U.S. states and several other countries. 

                Ken and Judy decided to move to Mississippi, where they started their own business, Linch Upholstery and Furniture Repairs. 

                After moving back to Oil City, he sold insurance for Harvest Insurance Company and received many awards for being a top salesman. 

                He loved whittling canes and carving figurines.   He could fix just about anything, and remodeled their home.  He loved painting pictures of scenery.  Ken was an avid reader and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  He also belonged to the P.N.A. and Pulaski Clubs. 

                Ken was nostalgic of his childhood home and growing up in Plumer.  He had fond memories of late night card games, Plumer Dairy, Mary Archer Store, and friends and family in Plumer. 

                An avid movie watcher, he could not pass up a John Wayne movie and could recite lines from many of the movies. 

                Ken is survived by his wife, Judy; and three sons:  Tim and his wife Sue and their son Xander of Virginia, Tom of Oil City, and Dylan Goughler of Oil City.  Also surviving are his sister, Kathy Jo Allen; and his brother, Bill Linch, both of Mississippi.

                Ken's family would like to give thanks to relatives and friends for their help; and for the great care from AseraCare Hospice who also helped cheer them up.  Many people will know of Ken as he loved to tell jokes and stories to cheer people up where ever he went. 

                Per his request, there will be no visitation or service held at this time.  Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca is completing arrangements. 

                Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 1645 W 8th St, Erie, PA 16505.
