A memorial service to celebrate Kathryn's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20th at Grace Baptist Church, 3250 Rte. 257 in Seneca. Family and friends are invited to attend. Pastor Jacob Coon will officiate.
Kathryn Irene Johnson, 92, of Seneca, formerly of Kane, went Home to her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, September 12, 2025 at Oakwood Heights in Oil City.
She was born in Clarion County on November 12, 1932 to the late Charles and Anna (Gougher) Cope.
She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Seneca where she loved the Lord and the fellowship of her church friends.
Kathryn loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family, especially baking cookies and pies, and cooking meals. She also loved the companionship of her dog.
In her earlier years, she worked at the Glass Plant in Tionesta.
She was married on June 13, 1975 to Rev. Calvin J. Johnson, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2014.
Kathryn is survived by her son, Robert L. Johnson of Seneca; her grandson, Isaiah Johnson of Seneca; a sister, Shirley Lawrence of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews, including her niece Jane Robertson of Mercer.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Florence Yokum, Dorothy Allio, Edith Baughman, Lawrence Cope, Pearl McClure, Lester Cope, and Walter Cope.
Private interment will be made in St. Mark Cemetery near Kossuth.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca.
