John Thomas Hawkins, Jr. was born March 5, 1954 to the late John T. Hawkins, Sr. and Edith (Nuhfer) Hawkins. He passed away at his home in Oil City on Monday, February 24, 2025.
John grew up on a dairy farm in Fertigs, PA. He graduated from Cranberry High school in 1972 and worked as a meat cutter for numerous grocery stores.
He loved riding motorcycles, and enjoyed music and animals. He also enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, camping, and working with his hands.
John is survived by his life partner, Kristine Walter; his daughter, Sheena Milliron and her husband Jimmy; his son, Josh Wilson and his wife Lana; and a step-daughter, Shelly Reynolds and her son Devin Horne. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Hailie Hicks, John Milliron, Layla Wilson and Reese Milliron; and his siblings "Gin" Virginia Brinkley and her husband Jim, Mark Hawkins, and Paul Hawkins and his wife Connie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law, Robin Hawkins.
John was a great father, brother and friend. We cannot put into words how much he meant to those he was close to and how much he will be missed.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service held. A private Celebration of his Life will be held by his family at a later date. A tree will be planted in his memory.
