Jeffrey Kahle Obituary

Jeffrey S. Kahle, 63, of Oil City, went Home to the Lord late Tuesday night, July 3, 2018 while surrounded by his loving family at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

He was born in Alliance, Ohio on September 13, 1954 to the late Arthur and Anne (Boudon) Kahle.

Jeff was a 1972 graduate of Cranberry High School and he graduated from Penn State with a degree in Health and Physical Education in 1976.

He spent many years as a coach while his children were involved with Cranberry Little League and Softball and enjoyed attending all cranberry sporting events. He was “Berry Proud" He also served on the Cranberry Township Zoning Board.

Jeff was an active member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City where he served as an elder, trustee, and deacon.

Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, and doing yard work. He set the boat records by hulling in three perch in one cast. He was blessed with the gift of gab and the curse of blab. He made new friends where ever he went. He always said to his children: "You gotta be friendly to make friends.”

He spent many years working with his long time friend Vic Garmong and his various businesses; and was currently employed by Pepro, Inc. in Oil City.

Jeff was married in the Seneca United Methodist Church on October 25, 1986 to the former Doris J. Boyd. She survives, along with their four lovely children: Daniel Jeffrey Kahle, Jane Anne Kahle, Margaret Dawn Kahle, and Elaine Carol Kahle, all of Oil City.

Also surviving are his siblings: Timothy Kahle and his wife Pamela of Franklin, Susan Dodd and her husband Jeffrey of Charles Town, West Virginia, Jonathan Kahle of Carlisle, and Robert Kahle of Fredonia, New York; a sister-in-law, Gail Kahle of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Barber and her husband Michael of Erie; two brothers-in-law, Roger Dloniak and his wife Stephanie, and Alan Dloniak, all of Oil City; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronald and Connie Dloniak of Oil City, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Kahle; and his father-in-law, Donald Boyd.

Friends will be received Friday (July 6) from 4-8 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday  (July 7) in the Second Presbyterian Church, 111 Reed Street in Oil City. Rev. Sue Montgomery and Rev. Jamie Fowler will co-officiate.
