Harold "Dean" Miller Obituary

                Harold "Dean" Miller, 95, of Seneca, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, September 5, 2025 at his residence.

                He was born in Cranberry, Pennsylvania on December 14, 1929 to the late Milburn "Mib" and Zella "Zid" (Cassatt) Miller.  

                He was a 1948 graduate of Cranberry High School.

                Dean was a member of the Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades Union.  He worked as a painter, beginning with his Uncle, Roland Weaver.  He then worked for Miller Brothers Painting and Wallcovering, alongside his partner and good friend, Bill Miller, before retiring in 1997.  He was a hard worker and dedicated to his family. 

                He enjoyed refinishing furniture, upholstering, hand-caning antique chairs, and baking and cooking.  During his retirement, Dean enjoyed making apple butter, veggie soup, and sweet pickle relish which he entered into the 4-H Fair and received several first place awards.  He also enjoyed hunting and ice fishing. 

                He attended the Seneca Evangelical Church for many years; he and his wife were among the founding group that started the church.  He was most recently attending Seneca Son Rise Church.

                Dean will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor, his hearty laugh, and the sparkle in his eyes.   

                He was married in the Cranberry United Methodist Church on September 13, 1948 to his high school sweetheart, Clara "Katie" L. (Meade), and she preceded him in death on December 4, 2017.

                Dean is survived by four children: Karen D. Polonsky and her husband Denis of Polk, Laurie J. Mong and her husband Ronald of Oil City, Barry L. Miller and his wife Diane of Seneca, and Kevin D. Miller of Titusville; his grandchildren: Joanna Holloway and husband Ryan, Charles Polonsky and wife Margaret, Michael Mong and wife Kinsey, Rebecca Childs, Steven Mong and wife Kathleen, Andrew Mong and wife Caroline, Logan Miller, Addison Miller, Tyler Miller and fiancé Harley Carbaugh, and Emilee Miller; and his great-grandchildren: Benjamin Millard, Lauryn Burckett, Arik Kutchravy, Zachary Kutchravy, Jonathan Polonsky, Mary Polonsky; and Audrey, Ellie, Jacob, Owen, Connor, Warren, Bauer, and Thatcher Mong.   

                Dean is also survived by a brother, Bruce Miller; and two additional siblings. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. 

                In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by  two sisters, Burnice Miller and Patty Johnson; and a brother, James Miller. 

                Visitation will be held Tuesday (Sept. 9) from 1 - 3 and 5 - 7 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday (Sept. 10) at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Kenton Shaw, officiating.  Interment will follow in Brandon Cemetery in Cranberry.
