H. Wayne Seidle Obituary

   H. Wayne Seidle, 73, of Seneca, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday evening, June 9, 2019 at his home, while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 10, 1946, in Transfer, Mercer County, to the late Harold and Irene (Nolan) Seidle, formerly of Clarion.

He was married January 3, 1976, at the First Presbyterian Church in  Clarion, to the former Susan E. Wyant, and she survives.

He was a 1964 graduate of Clarion Area High School. While in high school, he worked for his father at Seidle’s Chevrolet in Clarion for many years as an auto detailer and auto technician. Wayne later became an auto salesman for the business until 1995.  In 1996, he moved to Seneca, where he worked for A. Crivelli Chevrolet in Franklin as a sales person and later became a used car sales manager.  He then worked for John Truscott in Clarion for a short period of time as a manager.  Wayne finished his career as a salesman at Joe Taylor Ford in Seneca.  Then in June of 2006, due to a chronic lung disease, he retired at Joe Taylor Ford. Wayne loved the automobile business, and especially the opportunity to get to know so many nice people. Even after retirement he enjoyed going to auctions and transporting cars for various auto dealers.

In his younger days, he enjoyed water skiing and boating at the Clarion River and  at Miner’s Bay Lodge in Ontario, Canada with family and friends.  He had a camp at 85 Acres along the Clarion River for 23 years where he spent most of his time off.  Wayne also enjoyed playing cards and games with his family and friends.

While in Clarion he was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, where he was active in many activities and committees. He transferred his letter to the Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City where he continued to be a vital part of the church and the choir.  He especially enjoyed Sunday school class and the close Christian friendships he encounter through the church.

Wayne could be found at various coffee shops, Tuesday Bible study or Men’s Breakfast.  He would also frequent the Cranberry Mall for exercise and fellowship with the Young at Heart mall walkers; and enjoyed lunch, playing Bingo, and the company of friends at Cranberry Place in the Mall.

Wayne was also an active member of the Cranberry Area Lion’s club where he and fellow Lions members enjoyed serving the community.  He was a past King Lion and served on various committees.

Wayne enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He always had to send them all a text goodnight before he went to bed.

He is survived by his wife Sue; three daughters, Stacey Peters and her husband John of Brookville, Tricia Seidle of Clarion, and Pamela Beach and her husband Justin of Brockport, New York.  He also has two sons, John Seidle and his wife Tina of Leeper, and Bryan Seidle and his wife Michelle of Ephrata.

He also has eleven grandchildren,  John Peters, Brandon Peters, Tyler Peters, Bradley Peters, Gavin Seidle,  Tristan Haibach, Makayla Haibach,  Dannee Seidle, Seth Seidle, Alyssa Peterman, and Harper Beach; two great granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Also surviving is one brother, Bill Seidle of Grass Valley, California.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Seidle was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald A. Seidle of Clarion, and Chester Seidle of Fresno, California; and a baby sister, Lois.

Friends will be received Wednesday (June 12) from 3 - 7 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township.   The Cranberry Area Lions Club will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Thursday (June 13) at 11 a.m. in Grace United Methodist Church, 100 Central Avenue in Oil City, with Rev. Byron Myers, church pastor, officiating.  (There will be no viewing at the church).  Interment will follow in Brandon Cemetery in Cranberry.
