Edward W. Anderson, 68, of Oil City, died Friday morning, July 4, 2025 at UPMC Northwest Hospital in Seneca following a brief illness.
He was born March 29, 1957 in Washington, Pennsylvania.
He was married to Rebecca Jo (Neal), and she preceded him in death on September 20, 2024.
Ed had been a resident at Oil City Healthcare for the past couple of years where he made friends with many other residents and staff members. He especially enjoyed helping Eric and Danny with small maintenance projects at the facility.
He had a love for racing and he enjoyed going to the races with his father-in-law Clyde; brother-in-law Clyde Jr., and Joe and Logan Lockhart. Ed watched NASCAR and his favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon. Ed enjoyed helping his neighbor, Caroline, by getting her mail, putting her trash out, and shoveling snow. He also planted lilies beside the house.
Ed was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He and his wife loved to watch WWE Wrestling, as well as General Hospital. Ed was a friendly, outgoing person who was easy to like. He had a fun and entertaining imagination that he shared with his friends and family.
He is survived by his extended family members: Tricia Scott and her husband Garey and their children SaVanha Clark and her husband Gage, Payten Scott, and Konor Scott; Kathy Neal and her children Joe and Misti; Laura Carson, and Jean Neal. Ed was a great-uncle to Logan and Jaylyn.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his wife's parents (Clyde Neal Sr. and Alberta Neal), and a brother-in-law, Clyde Neal Jr.
Visitation will be held Tuesday (July 8) from 10 - 11 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca.
Interment beside his wife Becky will follow in the Heckathorn Cemetery in Seneca.
