Dorothy Weingard Obituary

Our dear mother, Dorothy Weingard, age 103, went to Heaven on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Dorothy was born on August 15, 1922 to the late William and Elyda (Cross) Watson.  She grew up in Pleasantville, Pennsylvania, along with her siblings: Maude Beach, Jane Hall, William Watson, and Florence Beach.

Dorothy married the late Walter Weingard on July 22, 1940, and had a loving family of eight children: David Weingard, William Earl Weingard, Clyde Weingard, Joyce (Weingard) Blest, Pennie (Weingard) Lawrence, Faye (Weingard) Swartzfager, Frank Weingard, and Vickie (Weingard) Dunkle.  Dorothy also had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy loved reading, poetry, ironing, and her church.  She was always singing hymns while doing her housework, and she loved visiting with friends and family.  Dorothy attended the Oil City Wesleyan Church for many years, which she loved.  She was always up and ready to go, before anyone else.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elyda (Cross) Watson; her husband, Walter Weingard; her siblings: Maude Beach, Jane Hall, William Watson, and Florence Beach; her sons, David, William, and Clyde Weingard; and her daughter, Pennie Lawrence.

We would like to thank the Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, The Clarion Life Program, and a special thank you to Wanda Stitt, who took such loving care of our mother.

In accordance with her wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be held.  Private interment was made in Craig Hill Cemetery in Pinegrove Township.
