Dianne Marsh Obituary

Dianne K. Marsh, 59, of Seneca, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by loving family and friends on Wednesday afternoon, April 29, 2026.

She was born in Franklin on March 19, 1967 to Kathy (Fike) Schreck of Rockland and the late Bob Schreck.

Dianne is survived by her mother, Kathy Schreck; her husband and the love of her life, Paul A. Marsh; her son Rob Switzer and his wife Jill; and her daughter Stephanie Master and her husband Chad; her grandchildren (the second loves of her life!) Chloe, Calli, Kenlee, and Westyn.  She is also survived by her step-children Andy Marsh and wife Aneisa, and Randi Fabiszewski and husband Dave, and Kenny Marsh and wife Elizabeth; and her step-grandchildren Carrick, Loretta, Conner, Colten, Dylan, Mariah, Brayden, Finn, and Axel.  She is survived by her siblings Becky Whitman and husband John, John Schreck and wife Wendie (who was more like a sister to Dianne), and Pam Whitling; special nieces Kendra, Carley, and Malliah Schreck, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her special friend Shelley Rennard, who stuck by her side throughout her entire cancer journey.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Schreck; her grandparents Labrida Fike and Jim and Ruth Schreck; aunts Nancy Fike and Lois Rowles; uncles Larry Snyder and Ron Schreck; and cousins Brian Snyder and Cory Hodler.

Dianne was a 1985 graduate of Cranberry High School and then earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from Clarion University.  She had a dedicated and distinguished career in nursing, working for the Easter Seals for many years, Community Ambulance, UPMC Northwest Emergency Department, and most recently at the Hillman Cancer Center at UPMC Northwest.  Dianne loved her nursing jobs, being an EMT, a PHRN, and simply helping others.

She volunteered her time with the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department and served as treasurer for many years.  She was also active with the Venango County Fair, serving on their board for over ten years, currently serving as Vice-President.

Dianne loved the snow and never hesitated to let everyone know that!  She loved the first snowfall, no matter how much it was; she would always call her Mom to tell her that it was snowing.  She also loved her grandchildren!  They had many fun sleepovers and made many memories together.  Her only hope is that she left a lasting impression on them and provided them with many great times.  She also loved to go camping, sit around a campfire, mow grass (she would mow the grass in their yard, the neighbors yard, and even into the woods if Paul would let her...), working in her flower gardens, feeding the birds, "Girls Day" trips, her horses, and deer hunting.

She was an avid Steelers fan.  Each Sunday during football season, she would be glued to the TV to watch "her Steelers," although she was also a Kansas City Chiefs fan.  Dianne became an avid supporter of the Flea Flickers Live - Monday through Wednesday evenings, having bi-weekly truck loads of items to be picked up!  (She hopes they don't go out of business or bankrupt without her!)

Dianne loved to watch her kids in 4-H and sporting events, never missing one.  She carried that over to her grandchildren and nieces, rarely missing a game or an event.  She loved watching her brother and son race their cars, always claiming she was their biggest fan!

She was very proud of her accomplishments in being a great nurse, PHRN, Mom, Grandma, and Aunt.  She was nominated four times for the Daisy Award, and won the award three times.  She received her PHRN Certification four months prior to her cancer diagnosis, so she did not get to work very much as a PHRN, but was very proud to be able to do it, because it was something that she wanted for a long time.  A special thank you to Paul, Jim, and JPO for all of their help and precepting.

Dianne fought a difficult battle with multiple myeloma and often felt terrible, but would always say "it could always be worse."

Visitation will be held Monday (May 4) from 1 - 3 and 6 - 8 p.m. and on Tuesday (May 5) from 1 - 2 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca.  The funeral service will follow Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Amy Callander, family friend and pastor of Park Hill Church of God, officiating, and the Oil Region Nurse's Honor Guard will pay tribute to Dianne's nursing career.  Interment will follow in Melat Cemetery in Rockland Township.  Those attending visitation and services are encouraged to dress casual and wear their Dianne's Army t-shirts.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca Volunteer Fire Dept, the Venango County Fair, the Kirtland Cancer Foundation, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
