David Woodworth Obituary

                David M. Woodworth, 76, of Polk, died peacefully at his home on Saturday morning, July 19, 2025, following an extended illness. 

                He was born in Oil City on May 8, 1949 to the late Clifford and Mary (Moffet) Woodworth. 

                He was a graduate of Venango Catholic High School in Oil City.  He graduated in 1971 from New Castle Business College. 

                He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 through 1969, during the Vietnam War. 

                Mr. Woodworth was a member of the American Legion, and the Neighborhood Youth Corps Conservation Program. 

                He was a member of the Seneca Evangelical Congregational Church. 

                David was an avid coin collector, a Lone Ranger enthusiast, enjoyed watching western TV shows and movies, reading his Bible, and witnessing to others his relationship with Jesus Christ. 

                Mr. Woodworth worked as a sales agent for American General Insurance, and worked at Polk Center as a custodian and residential service aide.  He also worked at the Skat gas stations in Rocky Grove and Titusville, Sugar Valley Lodge, and Wal-Mart in Cranberry. 

                He was married in Emlenton on August 12, 1978 to the former Kathy L. (Rossman), and she survives. 

                Also surviving are three children: Theresa Marie Woodworth of Erie, Daniel Woodworth of South Fork, PA, and Rachel Bickel and her husband Gary of Seneca; five grandchildren: Kevin J. Boudreaux Jr., Stephanie S. Boudreaux, Dakota S. Wolff, Raeleigh Bickel, and Micah Bickel; and two great-grandchildren: Emily Rose Boudreaux and Nala Boudreaux, and another one on the way. 

                David is also survived by his siblings: Clifford Woodworth Jr., Melanie Weaver and husband John, and Jim Woodworth; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former spouse whom he married on April 3, 1971, Darlene M. Hickman.  

                In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Patrick Woodworth; and two sisters, Linda Schwabenbauer and Chris Penglase; and an infant sister, Martha Jane Woodworth. 

                Visitation will be held Tuesday (July 22) from 5 - 7 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca.  Visitation on Wednesday (July 23) will be held from 1 - 2 p.m. at the Seneca Evangelical Congregational Church, 2844 Rte. 257 in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Hart and Rev. Terry Jacobs, officiating.  Full military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard following the service.  Private interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. 

                Memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca E.C. Church, 2844 Rte. 257, Seneca, PA  16346.
