David R. Hines

A memorial service to celebrate the life of David R. Hines will be held Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Cooperstown Presbyterian Church, 145 Academy St., Cooperstown, PA  16317.            

                David R. Hines, 54, of Franklin, died at UPMC Northwest in Seneca on Monday night, April 15, 2024.

                He was born in Franklin on August 5, 1969 to Catherine L. (White) Hines and the late Roy E. Hines. 

                He was a 1987 graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

                He was of the Christian faith. 

                David enjoyed fishing, watching Steelers football with his son, and kayaking with his girls.  He loved spending time with his family. 

                He was employed for over twenty years as a machinist for Joy Manufacturing. 

                He is survived by his mother, Kay Hines of Seneca; his three children, David Hines, Julie Hines, and Megan Hines, all of Franklin; a sister, Valerie Wheeling and her husband Monte of Cooperstown; a close family friend, Darlene Edwards of Franklin; two nephews, Matthew and Michael Wheeling; and a niece, Jossilynn Ross.

                David was preceded in death by his father, Roy Hines; a brother, Jason Ross; and his step-mother, Kristy Hines. 

               Funeral arrangements are being completed by Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca. 

                In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Hillman Cancer Center.
