Catherine M. "Cathy" (Disque) Cummings

Catherine M. "Cathy" (Disque) Cummings, 82, of Cooperstown, died at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. 

She was born in Oil City on February 24, 1944 to the late Robert and Stella (Budzinski) Disque.

She was a 1962 graduate of Cranberry High School and later attended Venango Campus to study Nursing.  She became an LPN in 1993 and worked home health care for the V.N.A. 

Cathy was a devoted and active member of her churches, the Worldwide Church of God from 1974-1995 and the Philadelphia Church of God from 1995 to the present. 

Cathy enjoyed gardening, reading on her swing, and bird watching. 

She was married on May 29, 1965 to Allen B. Cummings, and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2010.

Cathy is survived by two sons, Eric and wife Beth of Polk, and Joshua of Lavalette, West Virginia; her grandchildren: Cody, Tara, Erica, and Braden; a number of great grandchildren; her brother, Pete Disque and wife Patty; her sisters, Peggy Carlson and husband Greg, Teri Middleton and husband Jack, and Faye Marsh.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survived. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Disque.

Cathy will always be remembered for her selfless and generous tissue donation to the Center for Organ Recovery and Education.   

A memorial service to celebrate Cathy's life will be announced this summer.
