Arlene Rodgers Obituary

          Arlene R. Rodgers, 94, of Seneca, passed away Monday morning, December 23, 2024.  Arlene passed quietly and lovingly into the Lord’s presence surrounded by family members. She had been residing at Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle since September, 2022. 

          She was born in Oil City on November 28, 1930 to the late Lawrence and Grace (Mitchell) McNamire. 

          She was a 1948 graduate of Cranberry High School. 

          Mrs. Rodgers was a member of the Seneca Evangelical Congregational Church, where she enjoyed sending monthly cards and letters to recognize birthdays and anniversaries.  Arlene enjoyed reading her Bible. 

          She was a dedicated homemaker who cared for her family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

          Arlene worked as an aide for the Head Start program at the Oil City school district for 14 years.          

          She was married in Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City on May 27, 1950 to Robert C. Rodgers, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2010.

          She is survived by four children: Brad Rodgers and wife Sheryl of Seneca, Carol Fennick and husband Rod of New Castle, Randy Rodgers of Wilmore, Kentucky, and Julie Mehlenbacher and husband Mark of Slippery Rock; eleven grandchildren: Brian Rodgers and his girlfriend Kristi, Jamie Rodgers, Jennifer Stiller and husband Jody, Scott Shreffler and wife Kelley, Joni Phipps and husband Daryl, Jessica Worland and husband Chris, Ashley Atkins and husband Chad, Tara Bennett, Sara Aiello and husband Jody, Ariel Wig and husband Scott, and Seth Mehlenbacher and wife Natassja.  Twenty-three great-grandchildren also survive; numerous nieces and nephews; and her close friends, David and Judy Hart. 

          She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. 

          A private visitation and funeral service will be held for the family. 

          Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery in Cranberry.
