Susan M. Stover, 68, of Venus, Pinegrove Township, died Wednesday evening, October 23, 2019 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
She was born October 29, 1950 in Oil City to the late Edward J. and Ruth A. (Shingledecker) Stewart.
She was a 1968 graduate of Cranberry High School.
Susan attended services at the Fertigs United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed reading, crafts, sewing and knitting, cooking, and playing with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Stover was employed for thirty years as a claims representative with the Social Security Administration. She worked in the Oil City and Cranberry offices.
She was married in Oil City on August 3, 1973 to Lewis L. Stover, and he survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Kristy S. Stover, of Camp Hill; and two grandchildren: Kaden and Eden Stover, of Camp Hill. She is also survived by five sisters: Betsy Stewart of Florida, Joyce Chambers of Oil City, Nancy Reitz and her husband Lee of Mayport, Peggy Harrison and her husband Tom of Roscommon, Michigan, and Sharon McCauley and her husband Dennis of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ruth Stewart; a sister, Cathy Fry and her husband Jim; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Homer and Lillian Stover; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Chambers.
Friends will be received Monday (Oct. 28) from 2 - 6 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township, where a funeral service will follow Monday (Oct. 28) at 6 p.m. with Rev. Dan Grimes, pastor of Fertigs United Methodist Church, officiating. Private interment will be in Perry Cemetery in Fertigs.
