Mary Belle (Slagle) Rodgers Gerard, 88, of Erie, died Sunday morning, March 24, 2019 at LECOM Senior Living Center in Erie.
She was born in Porter Township, Clarion County on May 19, 1930 to the late Manuel W. and Nellie (Anthony) Slagle.
In her earlier years, she was employed as a caseworker for NATO III; and later, she and her husband operated Gerard Gun Shop in Erie.
Before becoming ill, Mary enjoyed crossword puzzles and knitting; but her favorite past time was target practice and skeet shooting.
She is survived by five children: Tony Rodgers and his wife Linda of Erie, Joe Rodgers and his wife Bonnie of Centerville, Elaina Dylewski and her husband Steve of Erie, David Rodgers and his wife Maggie of Harborcreek, and Terry Gerard of Erie. Mary is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Slagle and his wife Sandy, and Denver Slagle; a sister-in-law, Helen Slagle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first and second husbands; a grandson, Tanner James Rodgers; and a brother, Victor Slagle.
Funeral services for the family will be private. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Van, Cranberry Township, Venango County.
