Marcia Miller Obituary

 

Marcia D. Miller, 71, of Oil City, went home to be with her Savior at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, August 27, 2019.

Marcia was born on March 24, 1948 in Oil City.  She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Genevieve Shreckengost Miller.

She graduated from Cranberry High school in 1966 and attended classes at Venango Campus of Clarion University.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Seneca, where her husband, Rev. Glenn Miller, currently pastors. Marcia was very active at Grace Baptist Church where she played the organ, taught Sunday School, directed VBS, and worked as secretary. She volunteered with rotary club, Oil Region Alliance, and the Venango County Museum.   

She loved crocheting, quilting, teaching piano, card making, and cooking, She loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.  She enjoyed helping others. 

Throughout her life, she was employed at Oil City Hospital, Greenville Hospital, Photomart, Sarah Coventry, Calvary Fellowship Chapel, First National Bank, Joe Taylor Ford, and Farmer’s National Bank.  She also taught English at Faith Christian Academy.

Marcia was married in Seneca on July 9, 1966 to her high school sweetheart, Glenn L. Miller.  They were happily married for 53 years. 

She will be greatly missed by many.  In addition to her husband, Marcia is survived by three children, Bethany Martin and her husband, Jon, of Stoneboro, Tammy Hranicky and her husband, Rob, of Sligo, and Jeffrey Miller and his wife, Shalon, of Tooele, Utah; thirteen grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn Saylor, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marcia was preceded in death by her younger brother, Wesley Theodore Miller. 

Friends will be received at the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rt. 257, Seneca, Cranberry Twp., from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 11:00 a.m. until Noon Saturday where a funeral service will follow at Noon from the funeral home with Pastor David Foote of Baptist Temple of Franklin and Pastor Paul Conner of York. There will be a committal service immediately following. Interment will be in Perry Cemetery, Fertigs.  Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 257 Salina Rd., Seneca, PA 16346.
