Lula Mae "Sis" Kockler, 84, of Franklin, passed away at her residence on Sunday, February 17, 2019.
She was born in Fertigs on March 21, 1934 to the late Walter and Wilda (Shepard) Perry.
World War II was raging when Lue was a young girl, and her three oldest brothers were in the midst of the fighting. This led to a lifetime interest in the war and its battles. She became a very knowledgeable historian on World War II.
Lue was an avid bowler, and enjoyed golfing and sewing. She was feisty, strong-willed, and independent; and was loving and generous with all of her nieces and nephews, and will be greatly missed.
She was of the Christian faith.
Mrs. Kockler retired from Joy Manufacturing in Franklin as a computer systems analyst.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Eaton; and her second husband, James Kockler; three brothers, Lloyd, Otis, and Shurl Perry; and a sister, Gladys Glass.
She is survived by her brother, Gerald Perry, whom she adored; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Thursday (Feb. 21) from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township, where a funeral service will follow Thursday (Feb. 21) at 2 p.m. with Rev. Deborah Ackley-Killian, pastor of Heckathorn United Methodist Church, officiating. Private interment will follow in Heckathorn Cemetery in Seneca.
